Biography:
Jaimee Newman was born and raised in North Brunswick, New Jersey. Her art education started at the Ducret School of Art in Plainfield, NJ. She then moved on to earn her BFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts, NYC, in May 2007. Jaimee started teaching painting and drawing at the Nandi School of Art in Montclair, NJ and has been teaching privately for the past several years. She has remained in The Garden State working as a freelance illustrator, gallery artist, and art teacher.
Jaimee enjoys appealing to audiences from all walks of life. Her provoking collages have been on display in numerous galleries such as The Society of Illustrators in New York and The Magic Gardens in Philadelphia. Her collages are always evolving and reflecting the thoughts in Jaimee’s stored database.
While producing her painted paper collages, she is currently also commissioned by the public to paint contemporary portraits. She loves capturing the unique and individual personalities of people, animals, and all things great and small with a twist of humor. Her portraiture hangs proudly in many homes and businesses across the country.
